Concerns about stickers.

So it has been brought to my attention that a few people have been concerned about where the stickers are, and where the money is going to. Well ladies and gentlemen, that is exactly what i will be talking to you guys about tonight. First of all, where are your stickers? To put it simply, probably at a post office or in your mailbox, perhaps it's on the kitchen counter as you read this - your mom is wondering why you have mail from "Hb for Japan" and will ask you about it when you get home from school (don't worry mom, it's not a mail order bride confirmation). All donations made not requesting chrome made previous to the 24th of March have been shipped on Monday. If you did order chrome, i apologize for the delay but please bear with me. I am looking for a way to get chrome to work with me, but although i will do everything in my power to honor existing orders all new orders for chrome will be substituted for silver. I have spoke to a friend of mine who also does stickers and he has offered to do the chrome for me, so I am still waiting on (hopefully good) news from him.

I would also like to talk some numbers here tonight, We have collected over $6000 as of today which is awesome! Now some people have expressed that they were not aware that they would have to wait two weeks for their stickers, to be completely honest - neither did I. I did not expect such generosity from all of you and had not expected the donations to come in as quickly and in the quantities that they did. So here are some numbers for you guys:

$6000

that comes out to 1200 stickers.

It takes roughly 10 minutes a piece to cut, weed, apply contact paper, look up the order on paypal, verify it on the email, package it, and send it out.

That comes out to 12,000 minutes or 200 hours.

which means that if we were to put in 14 hours a day of work we would have shipped the stickers out on Wednesday (which is basically what happened) and we appreciate your understanding that we do have jobs and go to school outside of this project, if taking donations and sending out stickers was my full time job, then i would have no excuse (although i would be working overtime).

Now i am definitely not complaining, I am very glad that we are able to do this for Japan, and i am extremely thankful for all the generous donations that allowed us to do this, if nobody donated we would not have been able to donate our materials, our postage, and most importantly our time. I apologize that I was not able to meet some of your expectations on when you should have received the stickers.

Now i would like to reply to a comment left on this very blog personally, as this fine commenter chose not to leave a email.

Photobucket

I am very very sorry i could not reply to your email immediately. And i also apologize for not posting any info on the stickers being sent out. I was well...really busy making the very stickers that are the subject of your concern. I would really like to reply to each and every email that i receive but chose instead to concentrate all my attention on making the stickers and making sure they were sent out to the correct person, I promise you that i will be replying to your email.

Finally i would like to report to all of you that we will be donating the money to the Consulate General of Japan as soon as we hit the $10,000 mark. But before we go to their office in San Francisco with a hundred one hundred dollar bills (or maybe two thousand fives stuffed into a briefcase) I am contacting every major corporation that i can think of to see if they would like to match our donation, making the absolute most out of your donation.

I appreciate your time, your donations, and thank you for reading this.

Nice job Yuta! Congrats on your efforts. They are top notch. Those who have sent me inquiries I shall link them to this post (The Dutch Nissan Club). Thanks again and hope that in the near future I'll be able to help out more.

People need to realize is not about the stickers, it's about helping japans people out in a time of need. They need the money more than you need your sticker.

Props on undertaking this entire project. Hope you find someone to match your donation.

I agree with Casey

Getting the sticker isn't important or expected

It's $5, if I never saw a sticker as long as the money went to Japan I'd be widdit

nooooooo dont give the money that you hardly collected to the Consulate General of Japan, nothing wrong about him but who will know all the money will go to the people needed on japan, probably a good chance the money will go to his pocket, or not but will be nice if you at least get a confirmation document that he actually received the $$ and will go to japan to help the people needed. believe me there is so many and i mean many people trying to scamm collect alot of money for their own benefits and using japan tragedy as an excuse. you know what they say there is always some bad apples. so be very carefull who you give the money. peace and good luck

Take your time Yuta, fuck the impatient insensitive fucks. Stayup dude, take it easy and be well.

Great work Yuta. It amazes me that people complain about waiting two weeks for some stickers, when its not about the stickers at all. I recently did a similar sticker sale for a local earthquake we had here in NZ and people were asking me where their stickers were after a week! It makes you wonder if they are actually donating or just wanting to buy a sticker.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for putting the stickers together and doing the donations gig! I was so stoked to get TWO stickers last Thursday (at the Datsun meet), Keep up the good work : ) I think I might have to put in an order online, because now I need one for my S13 :D

Got my stickers on Sat .. unfortunately too late to display at our Japan Relief Car Show/Fund Raiser .. but it's on my car now and proudly displayed for the next Japan Relief Car Show (in a few weeks). How much longer do you anticipate doing this? No doubt there will be some interest (in these stickers/decals) and I'd like to send them your way.

Got my sticker today. Thanks for all you efforts and everything else Yuta!

I would have donated the money anyway but I got mine last Thursday. I stuck it on my car just in time for the fundraiser at the Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple this past weekend. The sticker looks great! Thanks so much for all of your hard work!

It somewhat bugs me people are making a big deal over receiving stickers. It's supposed to be a donation...

Anyway, props to all of you who are working on the stickers, it's tedious work. I respect the time and effort you all are putting towards this.

Yuta-san, it was cool to meet you and the HB crew at NFS the other weekend. Thanks for the decals (well worth the wait for those of you waiting) And again, absolutely fantastic work by you and your crew to help our Japan friends in need, amazing numbers for sure!

I'm happy as long as the donations are being sent. I already have lots of stickers ;)

This was a tremendous effort.

Also, I got my sticker already and it's excellent.

The concerns over the stickers and lack of communication are valid. No doubt those that expressed concern, and Yuta himself did not anticipate the overwhelming response to this project. Some say it's a donation and just $5.00. It is that and more. It's a business transaction and $$$$ of dollars at that.

It's a sticker. You can live without it. The money however, is going to make an impact on people's lives/well beings. Get your priorities straight people. If you donated just for the sticker than you clearly you donated for the wrong cause.

Scott said...

Selfish ass mother fuckers crying about a $5 sticker that you're GOING to get. Stop trippin.

Honestly, I could care less about the sticker. Its really nice but I just wanted to donate. I ordered 4 of these on the day you posted them up and still I have no response to my email nor have I received anything in the mail. I just want to know that my money went to the right place. A response to money sent no matter what the reason or amount is just common courtesy.

Anyway, thanks for doing this for Japan. Hope they get all of our donations soon.

a donation is a donation, i dont expect anything in return!! do you expect God to give you something when you put a 20 in the collection plate?! hecks no, you do it out of the goodness of your heart...I hope and pray that all is getting better in Japan, and that 510 wagon is dope. Good luck with the chrome!

I'm not sure if you've met your $$ goals or if you've found a corporate sponsor that will match or enhance the hb donation (Nissan USA is doing a matching donation program) .. or if you are still accepting orders/donations?

Anonymous said...

I made a donation about the time you first posted and I'm not sure if you got it. Been waiting for the stickers as a conformation but still nothing. Not trying to complain since I don't know how long it takes to send out thousands of stickers while trying to find a place to donate the money.

Any updates on how the chrome is working out?

Any update on anything?

I kinda feel my money was waisted and won't be making it to japan. I see other places doing similar things with plenty of updates on what's going on.

Yes, over a month later and I did not receive a sticker and we still don't know for sure where our money went.

thank you for all your efforts! I still have not received my stickers (2) because I requested chrome when you first offered these. I would be just as happy with silver, and again thank you for your efforts and helping all of us give to Japan.
